General instructions for abstract (for presentation)

  • An abstract is a summary of a research paper or clinical work.
  • It should be one paragraph with a word limit of 300 in English.
  • Keywords should be provided as a must (around 5 words).
  • Keywords should be written in lowercase letters (Not applicable to names/scientific names) and should be separated with commas.
  • Please do not include subheadings, bullets, lists and header/footer in the abstract.
  • Acronyms should be written in full the first time, mentioned in the text, followed by the abbreviation in parentheses.
  • There shall be no citations or references in the abstract specifically. If there is a need to cite references, please provide the sources in brackets.
  • Please send in a brief biography together with the Abstract.
  • The abstract should be submitted in the format of MS Word (.doc or .docx) document.
  • The submission deadline is 7th July 2024. Please indicate whether you consider to write a full paper or not.

AFFILIATIONS

Affiliations should be indicated with superscript Arabic numbers appearing at the end of surname/family name.

General instructions for full paper submission

  • The abstracts of full papers must be submitted first on or before 30th April, 2024. If participant indicate that they have intention to submit full paper, their abstracts will be reviewed first. Around two weeks after the submission, they will be notified whether they are invited to submit full papers. Only excellent research papers will be published in the special issue of Asia Pacific Journal of Counselling & Psychotherapy. Other full papers including those with pure clinical work or research elements can be published in the conference proceeding.
  • The full paper should include the following parts: Title; Abstract (Background, Aims, Methods, Results, Conclusions); Keywords; Main text introduction; Materials and methods; Results; Discussion; Acknowledgments; Declaration of interest statement; References (in the APA format); Table(s) and caption(s) (on individual pages) – to be uploaded separately; Figures and figure captions (as a list)
  • The full paper should be around 6000 words (excluding abstracts, tables and references). Manuscripts are limited to a maximum of 4 tables and 2 figures to be uploaded separately – please advise where in your manuscript these are to be located.
  • Please specify whether the ethical approval or the consent of the participants and clients are obtained.
  • Please ensure that author details are neither in the Main Document nor in the file name.
  • Please submit your documents in the .doc format. The submission deadline for the full paper should be June 24th, 2024.

About the reviewing process

  • Your abstract/full paper will undergo a double-blind peer review by the Conference Paper Peer Review committee.
  • Acceptance or rejections of abstract will be sent to you with reviewer comments in May.
  • If a revision is required, the revised abstract must be sent back within a week and the revised full paper must be sent back within three weeks.
  • If your abstract is accepted, you will be invited to register for the conference.
